Courtney Krantz is a cross-disciplinary artist based in Brooklyn who makes work in dance, film and video.  Her investigations in the still and moving image influence her dance works where she addresses considerations of time in the body, deconstructed gestural mechanics and experiential states.  Her film and videos encounter dancers and non-dancers, accumulated objects, environments of memory, everyday rehearsal environments and formal performance spaces.

Her work has recently been presented at LMCC Workspace program Open Studios (NY), Dance and Process at The Kitchen (NY), The Ann Arbor Film Festival (MI), DANCEROULETTE at Roulette (NY), Movement Research at Judson Church (NY), Center for Performance Research (NY), Iowa City International Documentary Film Festival (IA), Milwaukee Underground Film Festival (WI), Anthology Film Archives (NY), Millennium Film Workshop (NY) and Festival Novog Filma i Videa (Serbia). She holds an MA in Media Studies from The New School (2012) and a BA from Sarah Lawrence College (2001).  Recent artist residencies include the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council's Workspace program (NY, 2015-2016), Dance & Process at The Kitchen (NY, 2015) and Movement Research AIR program (NY, 2012-2014).
